A Message from Mike

I stepped forward to be a candidate for Mayor because I am excited about the future of our community. The potential for HRM is incredible and it’s within our reach, but it is not inevitable. There is work to be done and I want to play a leadership role in realizing our potential.

I grew up here, and my wife and I are raising our family here. There is nowhere else that we would rather live. But like many of you, I think we can be even better—that we must be better.

I believe that we can be the most livable, entrepreneurial, and inclusive city in Canada. Over the coming months I will be laying out ideas that I think can help achieve that vision.

I want citizens to feel connected to their municipal government, to be part of the process. This is your government and I want to know what you think we should do to make our community better. I am reaching out to you for your input and your ideas as I travel HRM and as we engage online as well.

I will be asking for your thoughts and your support. If I become Mayor I will work with the new council, with our staff and with citizens to make the best of the incredible strengths of this community. This process involves us all. There is indeed much work to do and I can’t wait. This is our time HRM.
